Fashion week is what's happening while you're busy making other plans

I always thought it was extremely unfair how the start of the semester always collides with the spring/summer fashion weeks. Needless to say, I've been working and studying my butt off this semester but thefashionspot and style have been my favorite procrastination activities. Especially these days where the fashion circus has moved on to Paris, I have a hard time focusing on studies, when I know there are such beautiful collections to discover instead. And yesterday I was simply unable to get my hands down after seeing Ann Demeulemeester's spring collection. Usually her aesthetic is a bit too edgy and masculine for my personal liking but this collection is exactly what I want to wear next spring. It almost reminded me of some past Dries collections as well. The draping and the layers.. The crystal embellishments.. So amazinly pretty. This is definitely my favorite collection so far!

Twisted Romance

Although keywords like theatrical, childish, colorful and whimsical come to mind as well, there is something strangely romantic about the universe the Australian design collective 'Romance Was Born' has created. Themselves, they described their latest show as ‘Aussie legends - the Dunlop Volley - are given a sparkling treatment. Think rock eisteddfod chic as these kids take over, creating an insane lounge room with a romantic vision’. Quite lovable if you as me.

Love at first sight

If I were ever to get married, it is pretty safe to assume that it'd be in a dress like one of these from Proenza Schouler's spring 2005 collection. I first saw these gowns in the fall of 2004, but I have yet to discover any dresses more perfectly suited for such a special occasion that a wedding is. My heart still skips a beat every single time I lay eyes on these ravishing beauties. To me, they read like poetry.
